Formed in 1979 in a Manchester Secondary School. The Northern Skies were a
short - lived regional band. The members recorded a single cassette demo, distributed at local school concerts. Despite their brief existence, their recordings are considered an example of the DIY music scene of the late 70s
[ARC-003] Cold Hearted
Formed in 1982 in Leeds ,Cold Hearted were considered strong contenders to break into the professional scene. A post - punk group known for their stark sound and minimal live performances . The band circulated a handful of demos on cassette, circulated only among local venues and small independent record . Their recordings reflect the darker edge of the early 80s
underground music scene.
[ARC-004] The Glass Index
Formed in 1980 in Liverpool, Glass Index experimented with early synth - pop sounds . They played only a handful of local gigs and pressed a small run of cassette demos. Their work has since become a sought - after collectors's item for fans of early British electronic music.
[ARC - 005] Electric Harbour
Originating from Newcastle in 1978, Electric Harbour was performing predominantly in the University Campus' of the North East and North and South Yorkshire. Originally members of a local football club, they were influenced by pub rock and proto - punk. Their recordings were shared among friends with only a few surviving tapes. The group disbanded in 1980.
